Lindsay Blamey combines his lifelong passion for photography,
art and design to create unique interpretations of the world
around us.

Born in country Victoria, spending time in London and living in Melbourne his landscapes and streetscapes are strongly influenced from his country childhood and adult city life. The interaction between nature and man is a reoccuring theme - sometimes sinister and frightening, sometimes nostalgic and strangely familiar.

His art challenges us to look at the world around us through a new lens. It is all about the unknown, the unexplored and the implied. He tells a fragment of a story and makes the viewer work to fill in the blanks. What happend before this? Where is it going next? Who is that guy? His choice of perspective often looks uncomfortable, voyeuristic or accidental. And that makes us ask, Who are we here? What role are we playing? How did we stumble across this?

Viewing Lindsay’s Portfolio we are instantly reminded of Jeffrey Smart, Gregory Crewdson, Jack Vettriano, and David Lynch. The relationships between his characters and the viewer create entire stories which stretch far outside the edge of the image.
